RL and SL disease

IN RL people tend to do this "not focused om RL"

In SL we have the IMs that take our focus away. It can also become rude if you havent agreed on how to handle this. Its difficult to stay in focus if you are answering IMs all the time and on the other hand if you dont answer IMs then that also could be rude.

You smart people :-) How do you handle this ?

The world around us...

Stress and focusing on the wrong things can make us miss things:
We tend to put our blinkers on when life starts moving to fast. Se here

Not only not seing and missing the good things in life, is a problem ! We also tend to listen in different ways depending on the mood we are in.So we translate things around us to the things we "want" to see.

Heres an example from me as Styxl. Stress can make us not see Styxl as what he is?:
Styxl is a guy/avatar that doesnt mean no harm to anyone. Still I do have a bad sense of joking and sometimes jokes can be interpreted in many different ways.
If someone knows me then they should really understand that I dont mean no harm.
Sometimes I miss a loop in my thinking and some of the jokes can turn out to become somehow misplaced. Even the sun has its spots and its difficult to be perfect without flaws and "the point of a joke" can be translated as the listener wishes.
If someone dislikes the joker then offcourse its easy to translate a joke to whatever purpose you want ;-)
If you are in a vulnerable mood then they can take jokes in a very bad way. I am the first one to apologise if I do that. Still some people doesnt accept an apology..Thats sad :-(
Still I would say that if you really know Styxl ! The you know that Styxl doesnt want to hurt people and that If thenits all due to a bad sense of humour. Please make 1+1 to 2..and not something else! If you still are in a mood to start a quarrel, then I am not interested. I am interested in reasoning but if I feel that someone really want to create drama..then I bail out. Its not worth the energy, when people are not reasonable and already have made up their mind to be more difficult than necessary.

Truth and Nothing but the truth ?

The world of SL seems to be quite turbulent, especially the Swedish part.
I would say that the Day SL stops being fun then I am out from there. I hope that thats the whole point of SL. If you put a Healthy view on it.

1) A dear SL friend taught me that the easiest way to live the life in SL, is to keep trouble away. The button for that is the "mute" button. Then you dont need to get any crap and its very non Drama if you take it as a "filter" system. I use this button whenever i need to keep my SL clean. Right or wrong thats the decision i took.

2) I had two people muted that are leaving us now. I dont see it as a victory at all. I am really sad that they leave since they brought a lot of good into SL. Whatever our problems were, I am very impressed by their way of bringing bright and good ideas to SL. They brought something positive to many of my Friends.

3) I will not judge and speak about things that can have happened or not. The only thing I can say is that I have had discussions with the person involved in these several incidents. I am a tough person in many ways, but in this case, even I got frightened. I wont go into details, but I simply took the decision to protect myself and this is why I use the definition that is stated under 1)above.

Thats the way I see it and the way I act in this matter

Difficult to be a human :-(

The RL world of today seems too hard to be real. Hope we are better off in the second life of ours...There we really can make a difference and offer a safe place for everyone..if we try and do it together.

If you cant see yourself ?

It strikes me that the toughest thing to do isnt the furthest away.
To see who you are! To know yourself !
Around us in SL and in RL life, we influence others and we do have people who work hard on influencing others. Still it seems very hard to see who you are yourself.
There are People with strenght and drive who really doesnt see themselves.
Do they Lie on purpose and act to be mean ? No I dont think so...they just simply havent got far enough in their selfimage and got stuck on driving things in a certain way.
Believeing that they do "A GOOD THING" and are good human beings.
I have come to the conclusion in my life that changing these people is a hard thing if they dont want to see how they are and how they affect other people. Its very like an Alcoholic...its very difficult to change them if they dont realize what they are doing themselves.
What I want to say is that they probably dont mean to be mean. Sometimes they even think that they do good things since thei blindspaces are larger than others...
